childhood hum + hard reset

🏃🏻♂️ my entry to myself:

SECTION I — childhood background humBack in 7th grade at Pinckneyville Middle School, every Friday Ms. O'Brien would roll in the TV cart and play Cosmos. Carl Sagan would talk about the Voyager missions—how the two spacecraft were edging into interstellar space, and how that iconic "pale blue dot" photo was quietly received by NASA computers. It felt impossible, a computer chatting with a spacecraft for decades across billions of miles. Only years later did I learn the magic was UNIX.In high school, I helped Mr. Katz run the computer lab. We had a mix of Windows NT, SUSE Linux, and Windows 98. Every semester those machines took a beating. Hundreds of us logged in and out daily, chatting on IRC and AIM, or running bootleg copies of Quake 2. The machines were used and abused. Most desktops would just BSOD, but the servers were different. The SUSE boxes kept humming. If a process crashed, it failed gracefully; you could restart the service without a full system reboot. The OS stayed alive by decoupling user sessions from the kernel. UNIX never quits. -
Section II — The 50 year GhostNow, my workspace feels like that lab again, except the chaos isn't coming from teens—it's coming from AI.I spin up hundreds of sessions a week: folders of half-baked prototypes, healthspan goals, and family errands that never stop. The context-switching is exhausting because, in the current AI landscape, state resets every session. Context fragments. Memory scatters. I've become the manager, scout, assistant, and janitor—the lone evaluator tasked with holding the long arcs of intent while the AI only sees the prompt and workflows.UNIX solved this coherence problem decades ago by separating the transient user from the persistent system. I need that same model for my life: a daemon that runs quietly in the background to maintain state across time. I need a process that sits behind my work, health, wealth, and relationships—a background thread that carries the state of my intent across the decades. If I'm training for the SF Marathon in 2026, the daemon should still remember that thread when I'm optimizing my longevity markers in 2046. If I'm building Ghost in the Machine, the daemon should unify thousands of transient AI sessions into one coherent project (recursive ai), and still keep me present for Ira's day-to-day.I want to build something that hums. Quietly. Reliably. For the rest of my life.

"guys, let's stop our thursday in-person meetings with me for now. i'd recommend you two to meet twice weekly in the city instead to push towards our key milestones: liquiditity balancing always profits from fees minus impermanent loss, and copy-trading always makes 95% as a top wallet.we'll set 5/1 friday as the hard deadline for the whole project: either we are ready to deposit $1m at risk, or we shall quit.li, send here every saturday a paragraph on the overall progress on the milestones above? aaron, drive from top-down to production trading despite incomplete modeling? i'm going to focus on ai agents, likely: x402 payments, youtube content, travel maps, [film club].i have been researching and evaluating our opportunities since decemeber. my taiwan trip had accelerated the decision. let's make our 2026 really count!
